Economist – Fairfax, VA

Economists participate in and often supervise small groups which work to analyze the competitive performance of electricity markets. Economists will contribute to market monitoring reports and expert testimony, investigate the conduct of buyers and sellers in the market, and develop recommendations for market improvements.

The position requires a master’s degree or Ph.D. in economics and the ideal candidate will have related industry experience and some knowledge of SAS programming language.

SAS Programmer – Fairfax, VA

SAS programmers participate in small groups which work to analyze the competitive performance of electricity markets. This work requires the processing, manipulation, and analysis of very large sets of market data. The successful candidate will develop and maintain SAS software to manage the data and perform sophisticated analyses, the results of which will be used in market reports, investigations, and expert testimony.

The position requires possess strong SAS programming skills and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Since the analysis generally pertains to market outcomes and prices, a bachelor's or master's degree in economics or related industry experience is preferred.

Technical Writer – Fairfax, VA

Technical Writers are responsible for the organization and composition of reports, presentations, and other documents related to energy markets.  Responsibilities also include working with a team of economists and analysts to gather and interpret technical market data. 

A successful candidate will have highly developed writing and editing skills, advanced skills in Microsoft Office products, and 3+ years experience in technical writing or other related field.
