Wander, Michael

Michael T. Wander is a Vice President at Potomac Economics whose background includes more than 17 years of energy modeling and analysis, including 7 years as a member of the FERC’s Office of Economic Policy. Mr. Wander has extensive experience in the areas of power flow modeling, statistical programming, as well as an understanding of generation and transmission facility operations, and fuel markets. He has developed a number of statistical models and databases used for market monitoring and competitive analyses of mergers, electric and natural gas deregulation issues, and other antitrust issues. As a member of the FERC staff, Mr. Wander provided analytic support to the Commission in the areas of electricity and natural gas policy-making and litigation. This support included the development of statistical and network models used to analyze competitive issues in wholesale electric and natural gas markets, and in electric utility merger cases in particular. Mr. Wander received an M.B.A. and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
