Chiasson, Michael

Michael W. Chiasson is a Vice President at Potomac Economics with a background of more than 25 years of experience in the electric power industry.  He has extensive experience in both the business and technical aspects of the power industry.  Areas of expertise include market design, transmission system operations, power marketing, power plant operations, and power plant engineering.  Prior to joining Potomac Economics, he established and lead an organization that forecasted mid- and long-term power prices for 12 regions of the country, providing pricing and deal structuring in support of power marketing, energy trading, and power project development.

Mr. Chiasson has taught courses in power plant design and operations.  He holds an M.B.A. from Duke University, Fuqua School of Business, a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and a NERC certification in transmission operations.
